Welcome to 4Sswimschool, set in the beautiful grounds of Handcross Park Prep School.

Sisters Linda Hooker and Jackie Reeves have always been involved in the world of swimming from a very early age having been inspired by their late father. They both swam competitively as youngsters and Linda still competes at the highest  level representing Great Britain as a Masters swimmer at both European and World Championships.

Along with our expert team of teachers we now want to pass on our experience and knowledge to children so that they learn this life-saving skill and can be safe in and around water.

Please take a few moments to look at our website and contact us if you have any questions.

We now have a Facbook page please invite your friends along to have a look.

Many Thanks

Jackie and Linda

June 2016

Dear Parents and Pupils

We have received some devastating news from Handcross Park School. They have served us with a terms notice to cease using the school swimming pool on a Saturday at the end of this current term  ( 16th July 2016). We received the letter from them during the Easter holidays and have spent the last half term trying to re negotiate with them but to no avail.

Obviously this will have a huge impact on all of our pupils and of course our teachers and our business. Please be re assured that we have tried everything to try to persuade them to overturn their decision.

It is therefore with deep regret and sadness that we have to advise you that we can no longer teach on a Saturday from September 2016. They have agreed that we can still hire the pool on a Friday evening between 3.45pm and 7.45pm.  We shall also still be allowed to hire the pool for our intensive Easter and Summer crash courses.

We will have about 60 spaces available and will be able to offer these to some of our Saturday swimmers if Friday evening is an option for you to get your child/ren there. If you would like your child/ren to transfer to a Friday evening please email us back as soon as possible and we shall do our best to accommodate you.

We are actively looking for another suitable pool to teach from and should anything become available to us we will of course let you know. If any of you know of any suitable pools in the local area we would love to hear from you.

Thank you all for your custom and support over the years and for your understanding at this very difficult time.

Kindest regards

Linda, Jackie and Lyn

The weekend just gone saw Isabel compete in the final weekend of this year’s Sussex Spring County Championships.

Isabel qualified for 14 of the 16 events in this year’s main county championships and she did really well. She won her first ever county medal in the 400m Individual Medley, won 5 Rosettes’ and made it to 2 county finals (100m events). However more impressively, due to her consistent high placings, and also because she can compete in all strokes/events Isabel finished 4th overall for her age group.

So fingers crossed Isabel should receive an invite at some point to join the Sussex development squad.

Well done Isabel 4sswimschool are very proud of you.

Title : From Swimming teacher to Pupil

Eleanor Morris recently swum in the Crawley Swimming Club club championships
Amongst her success she won two Breaststroke trophies. Her swimming teacher Linda won the same swimming trophies in 1973,1974 and 1975. Before Eleanor went into club swimming she used to swim with Linda at 4sswimschool on a Saturday. Once Linda had seen the obvious talent that Eleanor had she encourage her to go into club swimming.

Eleanor now helps with the swimschool on a Saturday morning with the younger swimmers passing on her swimming knowledge and skills. The children absolutely love her and look forward to seeing her each week.

We are so proud of Eleanor at the swimschool and hope that one day she might take up teaching part time.

Linda still swims with the masters at crawley and has recently swum in the county championships breaking two county records and winning 4 gold and 3 silver medals. Her next goal is to do well at the Masters Nationals in Sheffield and then the European Masters to be held in London next year.

Lisa, Meryl, Sharon and Linda will be representing Crawley/Great Britain in the forthcoming European Masters to be held in May at the Olympic Park in London. Many Thanks to 4sswimschool for helping fund the team.

Good Luck Ladies !!

News from the European Masters

The ladies did well at the recent European Masters swimming at the Aquatics Centre Olympic Park London.

Linda came 13th, 10th and 5th in her age group in the breaststroke events. The team came a super sonic 10th in the medley relay. Here are a couple of photos taken of Linda in action and the team.
