LINDA HOOKER

First Aid and AED Trained.

I am so proud to be working alongside my sister in our new business venture 4Sswimschool.

From a very young age I have always loved swimming as a sport. When I was younger I competed at Club and National Level. Now in my later years I still compete as a Master at Club, County and National level and recently competed with the GB Team at the European and World Masters Swimming Championships.

I am married to Keith and have two children and one granddaughter, who I absolutely adore.

As I have been involved with the sport for over 40 years I have a lot of knowledge and experience which I now want to pass down. I don’t expect to make Olympians out of all my swimmers, but I'd like every child to be able to swim a short distance that may one day save their life. Having said this, I have seen a few of my pupils excel in the sport and currently have one swimmer on the National Swimming team and another with a Sports Scholarship at Plymouth Leander where she is doing very well.

Apart from swimming I enjoy gardening, cooking and socialising.

My name is Jackie Reeves and along with my sister Linda Hooker founded 4Sswimschool in December 2013.

I have always been passionate about swimming and as a young girl trained every morning before school for Crawley Swimming Club. I went on to compete in galas and competitions for both the club and the county and was Sussex Breaststroke Champion at the age of 10.

I live in Horsham with my husband and three sons Matthew, Sam and Luke. I trained as a swimming teacher when Luke was a baby having given up my job as an Air Hostess to become a full time mum.

We pride ourselves at 4Sswimschool as being the best swim school in the South East of England and it gives me great pleasure and satisfaction to teach children to swim and see the progressions they make under our expert tuition. Our lessons are fun and enjoyable whilst  providing the basic fundementals of each stroke.

When I am not in the pool I enjoy gardening, skiing, keeping fit and walking my dog Archie.

LYN FORD

Qualifications : ASA Teacher Level 2

NPLQ ( National Pool Lifeguard)

I started swimming at Crawley Swimming Club with my two sisters when I was eight and carried on until I was 14.

I returned to swimming when my three children started at Crawley Swimming Club. I decided to train with them and we all used to compete in swimming and life saving competitions.

To give something back to the club I started helping with the swimmers and eventually qualified as a swimming teacher in 1991. I have been teaching ever since. I love it and it's very rewarding to see the children’s progression and achievements.

I still swim and compete in Masters competitions, my favourite events being the 800m and 1500m freestyle.

I live with my partner Andy and we enjoy cycling, running and spending time with our families.

I am also a fully qualified lifeguard and first aider.

TESSA WALDER

Qualifications: ASA Teacher Level 2

Teacher Rescue Test

Adult and Child

I have spent my working career involved with leisure provision having spent my full time working career in leisure centre management. During this time I qualified as a Level 1 and 2 swimming teacher and have since added the Adult and Child qualification to that.

If I say that I often bump into people who remind me that I taught their child to swim, and that child has just graduated from university, you will probably guess how long I have been teaching swimming! However, that doesn’t mean I have lost any enthusiasm for teaching, in fact I have become even more passionate about making sure that every child I teach is given those early fundamental skills and confidence that are needed for this essential life skill.

Jackie and I met through our eldest sons being at junior school together and out of that friendship I mentored Jackie through her swimming qualifications.

Along with teaching swimming, I am also a qualified tennis coach, teaching the under 8s at Horsham Tennis Club, and also a qualified trampoline coach, taking classes at Broadbridge Leisure Centre in Horsham.

When I have time I enjoy playing tennis, baking (I’m told I make an awesome chocolate brownie), and skiing in the winter months.
